Hailing from Naha, Japan, David Ray Roberts, better known as Dave Roberts has been working as the manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers for nine years as of 2024. Notable for being a two-time World Series title winner once as a player and once as a manager, he is also a former member of the Los Angeles Dodgers from 2002-2004. His total playing career in MLB lasted for ten years from 1999 to 2008. He retired from his MLB career after the 2008 season.

Moving on from his career as an MLB player, Dave Roberts had a short career as a sometime color commentator and analyst for the Boston Red Sox games on NESN. He then served as the coach for the San Diego Padres and also acted as manager for one game from 2011 to 2015. He became the manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers from the 2016 season onwards and has achieved a record of 851-507 in 1358 games as of 2024.

He was again drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 28th round of the 1994 MLB Draft and he signed with the team. However, he was traded to the Cleveland Indians in June 1998.

San Diego Padres (2005-2006)
