2013 EuroBasket: Germany lose to Ukraine on Day 3

Germany lost to Ukraine 83 – 88 in a Group A match on day 3 of the ongoing 2013 EuroBasket at Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Germany took the first, third and fourth quarter 16 – 15, 27 – 25 and 26 – 24 respectively. However, they lost the second quarter 14-24 to Ukraine to lose the match 83 – 88. Heiko Schaffartzik top scored for Germany with 22 points, while Sergii Gladyr had 25 points for Ukraine.

In another Group A match, Belgium beat Great Britain 76 – 71. Belgium took the first, third and last quarter 23-19, 22-17 and 21-16 respectively while Great Britain took the second quarter 19 – 10. Sacha Massot top scored with 15 points for the winners while Daniel Clark was top scorer for Great Britain with 19 points.

The top six teams from 2013 EuroBasket – excluding Spain, as they have already qualified as hosts – will get their ticket to the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
