2013 EuroBasket: Second Round Standings

The 38th edition of the FIBA Europe Basketball Championship for Men, better known as the 2013 EuroBasket, had reached the second round following the completion of the first round of the championship at Slovenia. In the first round of the championship, the participating 24 nations were divided in four group of six teams with the top three teams from each group advancing to second round of the championship.

France, Ukraine and Belgium entered the second round of the championship from Group A while Serbia, Latvia and Lithuania entered the second round from Group B. Group C saw Spain, Croatia and Slovenia entered the second round while Italy, Finland and Greece entered the second round of the championship from Group D.

In the second round, 2 new groups (Group E and F) is formed. The 3 best teams each from groups A and B will be placed in group E whereas the 3 best teams each from groups C and D will be placed in group F.

In the second round of the championship, only matches by teams that had not yet played each other have to be played. As for the matches that had already happened in the first round, their results will also count in the second round. Therefore every team plays 3 matches in their respective groups in second round. 4 best teams from the two groups will advance to the quarterfinals (8 teams in total) of the championship.

Group E

  1. France: 4 Pts.
  2. Serbia: 4 Pts.
  3. Lithuania: 3 Pts.
  4. Ukraine: 3 Pts.
  5. Latvia: 2 Pts.
  6. Belgium: 2 Pts.

Group F

  1. Italy: 4 Pts.
  2. Spain: 3 Pts.
  3. Slovenia: 3 Pts.
  4. Finland: 3 Pts.
  5. Croatia: 3 Pts
  6. Greece: 2 Pts.

Top six teams from 2013 EuroBasket – excluding Spain, as they have already qualified as hosts – will get their ticket to the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup. 24 European nations are participating in the 2013 EuroBasket.
