The 2013 edition of the U23 Men’s World Basketball Championship, which is underway at Adana, Turkey, had reached the quarterfinal stage. The championship is undergoing in two venues – the Yuregir Sport Hall (YSSH) and the Menders Sport Hall (AMSH) at Adana, Turkey. The International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF), in association with Turkey Wheelchair Basketball Federation, is the organiser of the championship.

A total of 12 countries are participating in the 2013 U23 Men’s World Basketball Championship. The teams were qualified from different sub-zones of IWBF. Participating teams are drawn in two groups with 6 teams in each group. The top 4 teams from each group will advance to the quarterfinals of the championship.

After the completion of the preliminary round of the championship, below is the final standing of the preliminary round with top 4 teams of each group entering the quarterfinals of the championship.

Group A

  1. Germany: 10 Pts.
  2. Iran: 9 Pts.
  3. Great Britain: 8 Pts.
  4. Canada: 7 Pts.
  5. Mexico: 6 Pts.
  6. South Africa: 5 Pts.

Group B

  1. Sweden: 9 Pts.
  2. Turkey: 9 Pts.
  3. Australia: 8 Pts.
  4. Italy: 8 Pts.
  5. Japan: 7 Pts.
  6. Venezuela: 5 Pts.

As the top four teams from both groups advance to the quarterfinals of the championship, Mexico, South Africa, Japan and Venezuela crashed out of the preliminary round of the championship.

  • QF 1: Sweden vs Canada
  • QF 2: Turkey vs Great Britain
  • QF 3: Germany vs Italy
  • QF 4: Australia vs Iran

The 2013 Men’s U23 Wheelchair Basketball World Championship is the fifth edition of the IWBF U23 World Wheelchair Basketball Championship. The final of the championship will be held on September 14, 2013.
