Pacific Division: Sacramento Kings, Golden State Warriors, LA Clippers, Phoenix Suns, and Los Angeles Lakers

For quite some time now, the Pacific has been ruled by the team that hails from the bay area. With the recent addition of the King, the division does not lack quality basketball players whatsoever.

Housing future Hall of Famers in Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Rajon Rondo and the latest addition in LeBron James, the aforementioned division is one to watch out for. Despite possessing a relatively somber environment in terms of competition, individual talent does stand out unlike anywhere else in the Pacific.

Let's dive in and take a look at the current team standings on the Pacific Divison leaderboard of the Western Conference.

#5 Phoenix Suns

Phoenix finished dead last in the Western Conference last season.

The Suns haven't been any better even after bagging the No. 1 draft pick in DeAndre Ayton. They finished 15th last season and are back to being the team with the worst record in the league again this year. Currently, they have lost the most games of any team this year, as they host a miserable 11-48(0.186) record next to their name.

They have lost all of their last 15 games and are now an abysmal 31 games behind the Conference leaders. Even with Devin Booker dropping 24+ points a game and Ayton averaging a double-double on the season, the Suns are yet again the laughing stock of the NBA, grazing the bottom of the leaderboard as of this moment.

#4 Los Angeles Lakers

LeBron hasn't missed the NBA Finals for the past eight consecutive seasons

Looking at the way things are panning out, the Lakers are not even the best team in LA at the moment. With LeBron's postseason legacy at stake, the men in purple-and-gold are 3 games behind the eighth seed, hoping to close the gap before time runs out on them.

With just 25 games remaining in the regular season after the All-Star break, Luke Walton and co. are 28-29 (0.491) on the season. Their sub-par win-loss record effected in part by LeBron's 18-game absence has resulted in a decent headstart for the rest of the teams in the playoff race, which the Lakers haven't yet shown signs of overcoming.

#3 Sacramento Kings

Buddy Hield is the leading scorer for the Kings this year.

After finishing 12th in the West last season, the Kings look determined to make a legit playoff push down the stretch this year and currently sit at the 9th spot, just one game behind the Clippers.

Led by Buddy Hield's shooting prowess, they are the 4th best long-range shooting team(38%) in the league right now. However, they hold the worst record(3-9) against Pacific Division teams this year. The Sacramento Kings' cumulative win-loss record stands at 30-27(0.526) for now.

#2 Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers might take a nosedive due to Tobias Harris' departure.
The Clippers might take a nosedive due to Tobias Harris' departure.

Trading away their leading scorer wasn't exactly the best move the Clippers could have pulled as they hang by a thread down at the 8th spot with the playoff heat about to kick in.

Doc Rivers' low-maintenance, high-output squad is 32-27(0.542) on the season, having won nine of the twelve games against Pacific teams. They are expected to enter into a tussle with Sacramento for the last playoff berth as the postseason approaches. The Clippers are top 10 in the league in three-point percentage, field-goal percentage, total rebounds, free-throw percentage and points scored per game.

#1 Golden State Warriors

The Warriors with Cousins are a deadly matchup for any opposition.
The Warriors with Cousins are a deadly matchup for any opposition.

The Warriors are ruling the Pacific, just like they always have. The second best team in the division(LA Clippers) lags behind by 10 games as the defending champs carry an imposing 41-16(0.719) win-loss record on the season.

The Warriors boast the best record in the West, outrunning the second seed Denver with every passing game. Having won eight of their last ten matches, Golden State lead the league in FG%.

Curry has made the second most three-pointers this season(236) as his team boasts the league's 3rd best conversion percentage from deep(39%). They are also leading the league in assists and blocks.

With a starting lineup of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, DeMarcus Cousins, and Draymond Green, teams would have to come up with something special in order to overpower them in the playoffs down the stretch.
