After LeBron James finally left the Eastern Conference for the first time at the age of 33, both fans and NBA analysts alike proclaimed that LeBron would have a much tougher time in the much more competitive Western Conference.

James didn't take long to silence any doubters. Despite turning 34 in December, he is currently having one of his best seasons to date. Through 17 games this season, LeBron is averaging 28.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 6.9 assists, and he is the driving force behind the Lakers' bid for a first playoff appearance in half a decade.

James has consistently been the best player in the league over the last five years, however, he has been overlooked for the MVP award since his last win in 2013. His greatness is often taken for granted, but if James continues his current form and guides the Lakers to the playoffs, surely the King will claim the 5th MVP title of his incredible career.
