#2 Defensive Assets

While everyone loves scoring, there's some intriguing defensive talent to keep an eye on with this Dallas Mavericks roster. As mentioned earlier, Reggie Bullock should be a welcomed addition due to his potential as a 3-and-D asset. Dorian Finney-Smith looks positioned to be in the starting lineup as a wing with versatility. A serious name to keep an eye on is second-year wing Josh Green.

Dallas selected Green with the 18th overall selection in the 2020 NBA Draft and Green showed some flashes throughout his rookie year. Green played his college basketball at the University of Arizona and showed the potential to become a serious defensive weapon at the next level. If Green can continue to take strides forward in his development, he could become a serious piece of the puzzle for this Dallas Mavericks team in their rotation.

Don't forget about a couple of sneaky bigs who have been key contributors for the Mavericks over the recent years as well. Maxi Kleber has turned himself into a respectable big man for this Mavericks squad with his basketball IQ and ability to make winning plays. Dwight Powell has also turned out to be a fantastic piece of their rotation as well.

#1 Offensive Firepower

This Dallas Mavericks team is always going to have dangerous amounts of offensive firepower, mainly because of the ability of superstar Luka Doncic. It's going to be a massive year for big man Kristaps Porzingis as well. Porzingis has been bothered by injuries over the last couple of years but there's belief that a new head coach could be just what the doctor ordered to get Porzingis back on the right track. If he can stay healthy, Porzingis has the potential to be a serious threat on both sides of the ball, especially alongside Luka Doncic.

But history has shown us that Porzingis has had his problems with staying on the court. Jalen Brunson is a name to watch out for as well. Brunson has been one of the most underrated players in the NBA over the last couple of years. He's a crafty guard who can impact the game in a variety of ways when he's on the floor. If Brunson can take another step forward, he could be a sneaky sixth man of the year candidate for the Dallas Mavericks.
