3rd SABA basketball Championship for men from 13th May 2014

Kathmandu is ready to host the 3rd edition of the South Asian Basketball Association (SABA) basketball championship for men from 13th May to 17 May 2014. The championship was earlier scheduled from 24 April to 28 April 2014 and was postponed due to technical reasons.

Five countries – hosts Nepal, India, Maldives, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh – are set participate in the the biggest basketball event of South Asia.

SABA, governing body of basketball in South Asia is the organizer of championship whereas Nepal Basketball Association, governing body of basketball in Nepal, is the LOC of the championship.

The first edition of the championship was held in the Indian state of Assam in 2002 in which hosts India drubbed Bangladesh 139-34 to win the title. The second edition of the championship was held in January 2013 in Bangladesh with the hosts winning.
