Becoming an All-star is one of the important achievements an NBA player dreams of. Some might think that it is about the flashy money and fame that is on offer but the truth is, for every NBA player becoming an All-Star is an achievement which he dreams of from the day he is drafted to the league.

People vote for stars that they want to see during the All-Star Game and they have a lot of favorites but, the thing is that there are only 24 spots available and many talented guys are left behind each year.

This year many players have been working hard to become an All-Star for the first time in their career. There have been a lot of amazing performances in the season so far and there are many players to choose from. Let's take look at few of the players who really have a big shot at their First-Time All-star break.

#5 Joel Embiid

Los Angeles Lakers v Philadelphia 76ers
Joel Embiid

Standing at 7 foot tall, Joel Embiid is one of the contenders for the All-Star Game. He is averaging 23.7 points, 10.9 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game. His trash talking before the season was one of the reasons why everybody wanted to see him play this season.

This season he has been amazing so far but the only problem is that he is dealing with a back injury and has missed the last three games for the 76ers. He lastly played in the triple OT game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, where he dropped 34 points while playing 49 minutes.

So, he is a deserving candidate for the All-star team in the Eastern Conference this year.

However, 76ers have been struggling this season and with his back injury, they are having troubles getting a Win.So, in my views, they will get only one player for the All-stars and that, most probably will be Ben Simmons. This is the only thing which holds his chances rest he is a deserving candidate and an all-stars with him will be interesting with all the buzz he creates.

#4 Ben Simmons

Boston Celtics v Philadelphia 76ers
Ben Simmons

The Philadelphia 76ers will definitely have at least one All-Star and Ben Simmons is the most probable candidate for it. He could be the second rookie to make it to the All-stars since Blake Griffin in 2011.

He is averaging 17.1 points, 8.8 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game. He has been the backbone of the Philadelphia's success this season and has led them both offensively and defensively. He is the leading contender for the Rookie of the year award this year.

After Markelle Fultz got injured, he has had to do much of the work alone. He leads Joel Embiid in minutes played as Joel has been dealing with his injuries.

#3 Kristaps Porzingis

New York Knicks v Detroit Pistons
Kristaps Porzingis

This is the man who has become an offensive force for the New York Knicks this year. I am specifically referring to him as an offensive force because Kristaps Porzingis' defense has always been good but offensively he has taken himself to a whole new level. Porzingis has made New York Knicks alive this season. For the first time since ages, it seems like Knicks have been getting along very well.

The 7 ft 3 in Unicorn is averaging 24.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.0 blocks this season. He has been the driving force at both the ends. He scored a mammoth 37 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and recorded 5 blocks against the Los Angeles Lakers on the 12th of December.

Knicks are 17-15 this season and have a chance to make it to the Playoffs. Porzingis, too, has a very high chance to make it to the All-star Game.

#2 Bradley Beal

Philadelphia 76ers v Washington Wizards
Bradley Beal

Last year this guy lost out because of the tough competition from guys like Isaiah Thomas, Kyle Lowry, Kemba Walker and John Wall. But this year, there is no stopping him. He is averaging 23.0 points a game, whereas, his teammate Wall is averaging 18.5 points a game.He has left no stone unturned this year and deserves to be an All-Star.

Wall was out for 10 matches due to injury and this allowed Beal to play a central role. He is a great offensive player with an amazing ability to use the pick-and-roll.

He is a sure shot All-star from the Washington Wizards this year.

#1 Victor Oladipo

Cleveland Cavaliers v Indiana Pacers
Victor Oladipo

Victor Oladipo has become a star this season with the Indiana Pacers. He did not have a good record after he was drafted in 2013 and last year he suffered in a secondary role with the Thunder. And just have a look at him this year!

He is making headlines every match and is unstoppable. He has become one of the best shooting guards in the league. He is averaging 25.3 points per game and scored a career-high 47 points against Denver Nuggets. In the most recent game, against the Brooklyn Nets, he scored 38 points.

He will surely win the "Most Improved Player" award this year and will surely make it to the all-stars.He is one the best players in the East and will go to LA for sure.
