Capitol College and Research Center (CCRC) gunned down defending champions Trinity International College to win the title at the 6th Benoj Memorial Inter-college Boys’ Basketball Championship at Kathmandu, Nepal.
CCRC defeated defending champion Trinity International College 62-44 with the help of Himal Tamang and Kiran Pun’s 19 points each. Defending champions Trinity were no match for their opponents as CCRC took all four quarters 20-18, 12-10, 16-10 and 14-6 respectively to win their first title of the year.
Himal Tamang was declared the most valuable player of the tournament.
Prime College finished third in the championship following its 63-39 victory over Times International College. Arjun Shrestha netted 18 points for Prime College.
The top four teams took home Rs. 50,000, Rs. 30,000, Rs. 15,000 and Rs 8,000, respectively. A total of 32 teams had participated in the 6th edition of the tournament.
