The upcoming NBA draft isn't nearly as hyped up as last year's, but the current class is no slouch with guys like Cody Williams set to make the jump to the pros. He may not be like Victor Wembanyama from last year or Chet Holmgren from 2022, but he's an intriguing prospect.

The Colorado Buffaloes freshman stands at 6-foot-8 and is capable of impacting the game on offense and defense. He established himself as a reliable presence at CU, where he started 18 of the 24 games he played.

During his lone college season, he showed NBA scouts that he could make an impact in the league. As such, he is projected to be taken in the lottery.

#1, Chicago Bulls

In the 24 games that he played in college, Cody Williams averaged 11.9 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. His traditional defensive stats don't stand out, but his defensive impact isn't the type that is obvious on the box score.

He has the length and the athleticism that will allow him to contest shots at an NBA level, and he has shown through his effort in college that he can be relied upon on this end.

In terms of shooting the ball efficiently, Cody Williams is right up there with the best. He made 55.2% of his shots while averaging 8.1 attempts per game. He can easily get to the rim and do a lot of damage close to the basket, and he's a decent 3-point shooter as well, averaging 41.5%, and with the right team and the right coaching, that can easily translate into the pros.
