A LeBron James controller will soon be released for PlayStation 5. Sony's gaming console has been very popular over the past few years, dominating the console market.

James, who recently became the NBA's all-time leading scorer, has teamed up with Sony to bring in a new controller and console cover. These are limited-edition items that have been designed by the four-time champion.

Special controllers and console covers are not yet available for purchase. However, they will be available later this year.

The LeBron James controller will be available later this year

LeBron James is a big fan of Sony's console and enjoys gaming in his free time. The LeBron James controller is specially designed by the LA Lakers forward and features several iconic quotes, such as, "Nothing is given, everything is earned."

The exclusive controller even features the words "Chosen Ones", which is a reference to one of the many nicknames LeBron has.

Here is what the popular forward said regarding his collaboration with Sony:

“It’s still crazy to think a kid from Akron (Ohio) who grew up playing games is getting to create something like this. Designing a console cover and controller with PlayStation that gives a nod to my I Promise students and where we come from is a pretty cool thing.

"I hope it’s something that continues to inspire everyone who touches it, and that they have a little fun finding meaning in every detail."

LeBron is the first collaborator to design limited-edition products for PlayStation.

Sony has announced that these products will be available for preorder through direct.playstation.com later this year. However, it appears that the LeBron James controller and console cover will only be available in select markets.

The Japanese tech giant has also revealed that more talented creators, including athletes, actors and gamers, will collaborate to bring limited-edition products.

How much does LeBron James' exclusive PlayStation 5 controller cost?

Sony hasn't revealed the price for the limited-edition controller yet. However, it's expected to be more expensive than a regular controller, which costs $69.99. Additionally, the price of the controller will likely vary from region to region.

Single-colored PlayStation 5 covers are priced at $54.99 on the official website of the gaming console. As such, LeBron's cover should cost around $70.
