A lucky fan won $20,000 for a half-court shot during the Thunder game on Tuesday night at Chesapeake Energy Arena. The fan identified as Heath Kufahl, was overjoyed as the money would help him in his wife’s fight against cancer.

Heath took the amazing shot between the third and fourth quarters of the eventual Thunder win over the Lakers, 122-105.

Youth basketball coach from Del City, Oklahoma said, “It’s always cool to see someone make that shot, but for the Kufahls and their seven children, it means a bit more: Heath’s wife, Jenni, was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer in October of 2012. The money will be used for mounting medical bills.”

It was later revealed that Heath wasn’t a Thunder fan and Laker beat writer tweeted:

But that wouldn’t bother Thunder fans as the money would be of great help and considering Lakers current position, there is a chance Heath would become a permanent Thunder fan.
