Tehran, IRAN-- The Islamic Republic of Iran came away with a dominating victory over Qatar in group play action. Arsalan Kazemi dominated the boards with 17 rebounds for the Iranians while Abdulrahman Saad led the way for Qatar with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams shot poorly from the three-point line, IR Iran shooting 19% and Qatar 10%. ONe of the biggest edges for IR Iran was their rebounding, 51-32.

Astana, KAZAKHSTAN-- This game went to overtime when both teams committed a late foul in the final minute of the game, allowing it to be tied. Anatoliy Koleznikov of Kazakhstan led his team with 21 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists. Hassan Abdullah produced 27 points and 4 rebounds for Iraq.
