UBA 2015: Haryana Gold beat Mumbai Challengers 100-73

Action from Match 20 of the UBA

This was a match between two teams out of which one was yet to have won a single match in the tournament and another which was in pretty good form – Mumbai Challengers and Haryana Gold respectively.

The match started with some quick baskets by Haryana; they were obviously dominating the Challengers at a score of 15-3 in the first 5 minutes. Then, waking up from their slumber, Mumbai picked up their pace and scored multiple baskets to look alive. The first quarter ended at 16-24 in Haryana’s favour.

The remaining match was more of the same. Haryana Gold easily dominated the proceedings; it was a cakewalk to the finish line with a huge score difference.

By the second quarter, the score was 33-49, and by the third it was 51-78, at which point the result looked pretty clear. Then came the fourth quarter where both teams scored almost equal points, but the Gold were unbeatable, posting another century of points.

The Challengers fought in the last quarter till their last breath, but their efforts went in vain as the game ended with a brutal victory by Haryana Gold. The men from Haryana have looked very impressive in the tournament so far, while the Challengers have looked the exact opposite and are still in search of that elusive maiden win.

Final Scoreline: Haryana Gold 100 (Vikas Mor 24, Rakesh 14, Birender 13) beat Mumbai Challengers 73 (Karan Pal Singh 31, Arif Mohammad 19, Harshal Parab 5)
