NBA: Playoffs-New York Knicks at Indiana Pacers
Indiana Pacers vs New York Knicks Prediction and Preview for Game 7

The Indiana Pacers and New York Knicks tip off the first of two Game 7s on Sunday's slate at MSG. The enthralling series comes to an end finally, and the results have heavily favored the home team in the last few games of the series. However, Josh Hart becoming the latest to have an iffy status has piled up the Knicks' injury issues.

These factors elevate the Pacers' chances of winning the series. Nevertheless, New York has battled the odds always, so even if it doesn't feel like a comfortable game, it could be a closely contested one, likely decided by a possession or two in the clutch.

Indiana Pacers vs. New York Knicks: Preview

The Pacers are coming off yet another phenomenal home contest against the Knicks, winning Game 6 116-103 to stretch the series. Unlike Game 5's lackluster effort, the Pacers played more aggressively and with intent on every possession, matching the Knicks' physicality and possibly outplaying them.

Indiana hasn't done that remotely well on the road, especially in Game 5. The onus will be on Tyrese Haliburton to set the tone from the start. His big games in the playoffs have given the Pacers higher chances of winning consistently, which was evident in Games 3, 4 and 5.

On the other hand, the Knicks, potentially without Josh Hart, need a miraculous effort from Jalen Brunson and Donte DiVincenzo to advance. They won't have much room for error offensively because of how depleted they could be in this matchup.

OG Anunoby could return, providing the Knicks a shot in the arm. But it remains to be seen how effective he can be. The defense will also have a significant role in this matchup, which the Knicks have leaned on the most while missing Julius Randle and Anunoby for most games this season.

Indiana Pacers vs. New York Knicks: Starting Lineups, Rotations and Subs

Indiana Pacers starting lineup

PG - Tyrese Haliburton, SG - Andrew Nembhard, SF - Aaron Nesmith, PF - Pascal Siakam, C - Myles Turner

The Pacers' rotation will include T.J. McConnell, Obi Toppin, Ben Sheppard, and Isaiah Jackson.

New York Knicks starting lineup

PG - Jalen Brunson, SG - Donte DiVincenzo, SF - Josh Hart, PF - OG Anunoby, C - Isaiah Hartenstein

The Knicks' starting lineup and rotation could change depending on Hart and Anunoby's availabilities. They are both game-time decisions, listed as questionable at the time of writing. Miles McBride and Precious Achiuwa will be the players in contention to start if both don't play.

McBride and Achiuwa could be the most used players off the bench with Alec Burks if Hart and Anunoby return.

Indiana Pacers vs. New York Knicks: Betting Tips

Jalen Brunson is favored to score over 34.5 points in this game. He has averaged 38.6 points at home across three games in this series.

Meanwhile, Tyrese Haliburton's points total is 19.5. He is favored to score less than that after producing only 17.6 ppg in three road games this series.

Pascal Siakam is favored to score over 21.5 points. He has averaged 18.3 ppg at MSG in the 2024 playoffs, but with Anunoby and Hart potentially missing the game, Siakam could score easily against the Knicks' frontline.

Indiana Pacers vs. New York Knicks: Prediction

As per oddsmakers, the New York Knicks are marginal favorites with a -159 money line and -3.5 spread. They have been dominant at home despite adversity. However, the Indiana Pacers aren't far behind with a +134 money line. The odds could shift in their favor should the Knicks rule Josh Hart and OG Anunoby out before tipoff.
