On Sunday, the Indiana Pacers and the OKC Thunder will go against each other in the second game of the 2025 NBA Finals. The Pacers currently have a one-game lead in the best-of-seven series after Tyrese Haliburton secured a 111-110 win on Thursday with his last-second game-winning shot.
Both squads have established their identities in their playoff journey. The Thunder have been the consistent cool executioners who tore apart their opponents game by game. The Pacers, on the other hand, have been unpredictable, and with their clutch ability on full display against the Bucks, the Cavaliers and ultimately the Knicks, they have proven they can turn around any game.
Despite losing game 1 in the series, the Thunder are still the favorites, but if the first game has taught us anything, it is that the underdog Pacers have what it takes to pull off upsets on the biggest stage.

Here's a preview of Game 2 of the Indiana Pacers vs the OKC Thunder NBA Finals series, scheduled to tip off at 8:00 p.m. ET at the Paycom Center.

Indiana Pacers vs OKC Thunder preview
Game 1 between Indiana and OKC resembled a chess battle between the coaches rather than a matchup between star players taking over. It gave us a taste of what both teams are capable of and how this series is going to be.
There is no doubt that the Thunder were the more dominant team in the first game. They maintained their lead for the entire game, and the only time Indiana flipped it, they ended up winning the game.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was unstoppable, and it doesn't look like the Pacers will have an answer for him in Game 2. Indiana compensated for their inability to stop SGA by closing out on his other teammates. The Thunder need to look for different options and beat their opponents' defensive pressure.
More importantly, they need to make sure they build the lead as much as possible to keep Indiana off their tail. The Pacers had trouble with the ball in the first half, turning it over 19 times in the first two quarters alone. However, only nine of those chances were converted successfully.
OKC needs to make sure it capitalizes on their opponent's mistakes. The Pacers were smart in the second half, as Tyrese Haliburton was being guarded by Lu Dort, which restricted his movement. They therefore relied on Andrew Nembhard, who cooked the Thunder's perimeter defense as the primary ball handler.
Haliburton played a good role as an off-ball player and screener in the fourth, culminating in his game-winning shot in the dying moments. The Pacers need to find ways to get their main man free, or else it will be a difficult night on Sunday, as miracles don't happen too often.

Indiana Pacers vs OKC Thunder prediction
Even though the Indiana Pacers grabbed a slim victory in Game 1, the second game in the series might be a whole different story. The OKC Thunder will learn from their mistakes and capitalize on their opponents.
Expect them to dominate the second game just like the first one, but to close this one out before any comeback can be made.
Our prediction: Thunder win by 10+
