Indian Overseas Bank started the championship with a comfortable 72-53 victory over TN State Police on the opening day of the IOB-CDBA Level 1 city league basketball championship for the Ponnappa Nadar Trophy, which is being held at Chennai.
Satish Kumar of IOB was the star performer of the match with 19 points.
In the other match, ICF beat State Bank 54-25.
Mr. R. Ilangovan, Secretary, Tamil Nadu State Basketball Association, inaugurated the championship.
