Jaylen Brown Injury: Jaylen Brown is ruled out against Pistons after suffering a knee contusion

Washington Wizards v Boston Celtics
Washington Wizards vs. Boston Celtics.

The Boston Celtics had some unfortunate news as they announced that Jaylen Brown will miss their game against the Detroit Pistons on Saturday night. It was a tough loss for Boston as they were hopeful that they could keep their guys healthy after already dealing with a few injuries on the roster.

It's reported that Jaylen Brown currently has a left knee contusion. Typically, those don't take too long to come back from, but he will likely take a few days off. Boston has made good decisions in terms of sitting guys when they've been injured throughout the past, so there should be no difference here.

The Celtics are coming into this game with a 9-3 record and are in second place in the Eastern Conference. They've managed to do so without center Robert Williams III. Jaylen Brown has been a major reason why this team has found the type of success that they have. After helping Boston reach the NBA Finals a season ago, he's been even better this season.

Brown is averaging 25.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists on an efficient 47.9% shooting from the field.

Boston should be able to take care of business as they're going to be taking on a Detroit Pistons team that's currently 3-10. Detroit comes into this one in last place in the Eastern Conference. After an offseason where people believed that they were going to be much better than they have been in previous seasons, the Pistons failed to meet expectations.

Furthermore, Cade Cunningham is also going to be out for Detroit, so that's one less player that the Celtics are going to have to worry about. Cunningham is likely the best player on a young Detroit team. Boston will get some help on the court by not having to face Cunningham on the court.

Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics will try to take care of business without Jaylen Brown at 7 p.m. ET.
