The JETS state-level inter-college basketball event for men will be happening from today at the St.Joseph’s Engineering College campus.
The ninth Jeppiaar Educational Trust Sports (JETS), a State-level collegiate sports festival, for men will be held from March 12 to 14.
The basketball Tournament at JETS will feature big teams such as Sathyabama and Hindustan University fighting for the Championship trophy. The JETS trophy is a honorable trophy in the inter-college sports level, and especially in the basketball.
The JETS basketball event is a state level inter-college basketball event. The basketball tournament for women’s conclude last week in the women’s section of the event.
Competitions for women which were held last week also included basketball, volleyball, chess, table tennis, tennis, ball-badminton, badminton and kabaddi, while the men’s format which is starting today will include football also.
Dr. Babu Manoharan, Director, St. Joseph’s College of Engineering, said prize money will be awarded to the top four places in and the total expenditure for the entire sports festival is around Rs.13.25 lakh.
