Bill Simmons of The Ringer was only recently suggesting a trade sending DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic to the LA Lakers. However, it seems like Simmons' proposal is not far off, according to ESPN's Zach Lowe.

"The trade I saw on Twitter was Russ and both picks, one with light protections I think, for DeRozan and Vucevic," Lowe said. "I can tell you 100% for sure the Lakers have had internal discussions about that very possibility if it would ever come up. Not that they would do it, let me be clear. Just, you look around the league, like any responsible team would."

Simmons' proposed trade had the Chicago Bulls sending DeRozan and Vucevic to the Lakers in exchange for Russell Westbrook and two first round picks. The 2027 pick will be unprotected, while the 2029 pick is top-five protected.

Draymond Green's friendship with LeBron James has received a lot of scrutiny from NBA fans. There were even rumors of Green wanting to join the LA Lakers to team up with "The King." It was possible, especially with Green's altercation with Jordan Poole in the offseason.

However, the former Defensive Player of the Year rejected the idea of teaming up with James in LA. Green cleared the air in an exclusive interview with Marc J. Spears of Andscape.

"I never said that," Green said. "People can say what they want. I'm also not really one to react much to what one may say. I react to things when I want to react to it. I don’t react to things just because somebody said it."

Green added that he wants to spend his entire career with the Golden State Warriors:

"It's a very rare thing. There's 470, 480 players in the NBA? There are five guys that’s been with his team for 11 years plus. That's amazing. So, you don't just give that away. So, absolutely I'd be interested in that."
