The Phoenix Suns return to Emirates NBA Cup action on Tuesday as they host the LA Lakers at Footprint Center. Both teams are in the midst of a rough patch and will be eager to get back to the win column and, more importantly, secure a place in the knockout rounds.
The Lakers (10-6) sit at the top of West Group B with a 2-0 record. The Suns (9-7), on the other hand, are in fourth place with a 1-1 record. This will be the third game between the division rivals, with each winning one apiece.
The Lakers are coming off arguably their worst performance of the season in a 127-102 loss to the Denver Nuggets. And defeat to the Orlando Magic before that has somewhat sullied the unbeaten home run that they had put together beforehand.
If the Lakers hope to have any chance to flip the script, Anthony Davis is going to have to be at his best and significant improvements in shooting from other players.

Meanwhile, the Suns have dropped five straight games largely in part due to Kevin Durant’s absence, poor shooting from the 3-point line and lackluster second-half showings. The pressure is mounting, and a positive result on Tuesday would get them right back on track amid growing discontent.
