FIBA ASIA announced that following the suspension of Lebanese Basketball Federation (LBF), only 15 teams will compete in the upcoming 27th FIBA ASIA Championship for Men which is going to be held in Manila, Philippines from 1 – 11 August 2013.
Lebanon, the 3rd ranked team in FIBA ASIA and also one of the title contenders of the championship, was suspended by International Basketball Federation (FIBA) on July 11.
As the result, Group B of the Preliminary Round, where Lebanon were scheduled to play, will feature only three teams – Japan, Qatar and Hong Kong.
