LeBron James scores in double digits in 500th straight game

LeBron James scored 35 points against the Toronto Raptors

Miami Heat’s LeBron James became only the fifth player to ever score in double digits for 500 straight regular season games in the NBA.

He achieved the milestone after he scored 35 points against the Toronto Raptors today.

With this achievement, he joins an elite club that has basketball greats like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (who did it twice – 787 and 508 games), Michael Jordan (866 games), Karl Malone (575 games) and Moses Malone (526 games).

Speaking after the game, James said, “When I see a stat like that, I’m like: ‘Wow,’ because I know the history, know the guys who paved the way for myself and my teammates and to be in such a great class like that, it’s an amazing feeling.”

The last time James scored less than 10 points was way back in 2007 against the Milwaukee Bucks. In his entire career of 770 regular season games, James has failed to score more than 10 points in only a phenomenal eight games.

If James is to break Michael Jordan’s record of 866 games, it won’t happen until the 2017-18 season.
