Russell Westbrook is another NBA star to have achieved this mark in his career. Often painted as a stat padder, the new LA Lakers man delivered a masterclass in a win over the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2016-17 season while playing for the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The point guard fell short of breaking Oscar Robertson's record for the NBA's most triple-doubles in a season that night. Nevertheless, he entered this distinguished list as he made a 3-pointer - his eighth that night - in the last 14 seconds of a thrilling 103-100 victory over the Grizzlies. He finished with an outstanding 45 points, 10 assists and nine rebounds.

Trae Young is the most recent player to achieve this incredible feat, doing so in the Atlanta Hawks’ Nov. 14 game against the Milwaukee Bucks to help the Hawks (7-8) end a stretch in which they lost seven of eight games and begin a three-game winning streak.

The Bucks had Giannis Antetokounmpo return after missing their previous game with a sprained ankle, but it was Young who lit up the show, finishing with 42 points, eight rebounds and 10 assists.

The Hawks' leader was on form against a Bucks team that knocked the Hawks out of last season’s NBA playoffs. Trae Young made 8-of-13 3-pointers to tie his career record for 3-pointers in a game.

To top it off, his season-high 42 points was his 17th 40-point performance in his first four seasons in the NBA, adding him to an illustrious list of players with the most 40-point games in their first four seasons. That accomplishment places him amongst the likes of Kevin Durant (17), Lebron James (17), Shaquille O’Neal (21) and Michael Jordan (62).
