Magic Johnson is popularly viewed as the greatest point guard of all time. Standing at 6'9", he broke the mold in terms of what it meant to be a point guard.

Running the fastbreak for the Showtime LA Lakers in the 80s, Johnson led the team to five NBA championships, winning his first Finals MVP in his rookie season.

Magic Johnson recorded 17,707 points and 10,136 assists over the course of his 13-year NBA career. He also averaged 19.5 points and 11.2 assists per game in his career.

Johnson could run the offense like no one else. He used his size to see the floor and throw bullet passes into open spaces to find the cutting man. He was most famously known for the "no-look" pass.

Although his career was tragically cut short when he tested positive for HIV, Magic Johnson had an illustrious NBA career which saw him and the Lakers truly dominate the league.


#2 John Stockton - 19,711 points, 15,806 assists

John Stockton was one of the key players behind the Utah Jazz's success in the 90s. Paired with the dominant Karl Malone, the duo was one of the deadliest combinations in NBA history.

Known for his durability, Stockton played in the NBA for 19 years, going to the NBA Finals twice without successfully winning a ring. He recorded a total of 19,711 points and 15,806 assists in his career while averaging 13.1 points and 10.5 assists per game. Stockton is the NBA's All-Time assist leader.

Stockton was a point guard in the purest sense. His ability to find players on the pick-and-roll and to drop perfect pocket passes and score when necessary made him one of the toughest players to guard.

To add to all his offensive gifts, Stockton was a massive presence on the defensive end. He could easily pick most players' pockets, a skill that helped him become the NBA's All-Time steals leader.

Chris Paul is known as "Point God" for a reason. Featuring one of the most secure handles in the game and a genius-level basketball IQ, he is one of the most skilled point guards ever to play the game.

Over the course of his 16 year NBA career, Paul recorded totals of 19,978 points and 10,275 assists while averaging 18.3 points and 9.4 assists per game in his career.

Chris Paul has proven himself to be a tremendous passer of the ball and an influential leader on the court. Not only is he able to command the floor and run the offense with conviction, but he also has impressive defensive skills. The 36-year-old is a nine-time NBA All-Defensive Team member.

Paul looks set to continue his success as a player with the Phoenix Suns. After making an appearance in the NBA Finals last season, the Suns are aiming to win it all in the 2021-22 NBA season.
