#3 Tom Heinsohn

Tom Heinsohn played a total of nine seasons with the Boston Celtics, from 1956-65. In those nine seasons, Heinsohn won eight NBA Finals, winning one almost every season. He also made six All-Star games, was a four-time All-NBA and was the 1956-57 Rookie of the Year.

In his career, he averaged 18.6 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. From 1959-62 he averaged over 20 points and nine rebounds a game. All of his stats took a bump in the playoffs, averaging 19.8 points and 9.2 rebounds a game.

Heinsohn was inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame in 1986.

#2 John Havlicek

John Havlicek was a vital part of the Boston Celtics dominance. He played 16 seasons in Boston, finishing with eight NBA Finals.

Havlicek was also a 13 time All-NBA, 11-time All-Star and eight-time All-Defense. On top of that, he was the 1973-74 NBA Finals MVP.

In his career, he averaged 36.6 minutes a game with 20.8 points and 4.8 assists. In the two seasons from 1970-72, he averaged over 25 points and seven assists. He scored 26,395 total points in his career.

Havlicek was inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame in 1984.

#1 Bill Russell

Bill Russell could arguably be one of the best players to ever play in the NBA. In just 13 seasons, he amounted to an insane amount of achievements, including 11 NBA titles. He was also a 12-time All-Star, 11-time All-NBA and five-time league MVP.

Russell, for his career, averages 15.1 points and an insane 22.5 points. Sadly at the time, they did not record defensive stats because all accounts have Russell as one of the most dominant defenders ever. For his entire career, Russell never averaged less than 35 minutes a season.

In the playoffs, Russell became more dominant, averaging 16.4 points and again an insane 24.9 rebounds.

Russell was inducted into the NBA Hall of Fame in 1975.

It makes sense that a lot of these players on this list are from the Boston Celtics. For almost 20 years, they ruled the NBA. From 1957-76 they won 13 of their 17 NBA Finals.
