Listing oldest and youngest players to participate in NBA All-Star Games 2023

On Sunday, February 19, the highly anticipated 2023 All-Star game will finally take place. Fans are eager to watch the action between their favorite superstars in a match that is sure to have a ton of spectacular highlights. During this special event, players can slow down and play basketball without becoming too competitive.

While the NBA already has plenty of young talent who are flourishing in the league today, there are still those old dogs that continue to be great despite their age. Having said that, here's a breakdown of the oldest and youngest players in the 2023 All-Star game.

2023 NBA All-Star game: Oldest players

#1 LeBron James (38 years old)

Whether you love him or hate him, LeBron James never fails to surprise the basketball world. James is already 38 years old and is about to enter his 19th consecutive All-Star game, once again as acting team captain this year. His longevity is insane and his consistency as a player is mind-blowing too. "King" James is currently averaging 30.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 7.0 assists.

#2 DeMar DeRozan (33 years old)

After his stint with the Toronto Raptors, DeMar DeRozan's future in the league was quite a blur. He was rapidly approaching his 30s and didn't get an invite to the All-Star game any longer. However, DeRozan proved himself worthy again when he teamed up with the Chicago Bulls last season. Now an All-Star caliber player once again, he is averaging 25.4 points, 5.1 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.0 steals.

#3 Paul George (32 years old)

Paul George has been through a lot in the NBA. He's faced a career-threatening injury, was sent to several teams, and never got a chance to contend for the ultimate prize. Fortunately, PG is still good enough to be considered an elite player despite all these setbacks. Coming into the All-Star game, George is averaging 23.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.

#4 Jrue Holiday (32 years old)

Honestly, it's a bit surprising to see Jrue Holiday make it into the 2023 All-Star game. The last time he was named an All-Star was back in 2013 when he was still playing for the Philadelphia 76ers. It must be a great feeling for Jrue to be invited to his second All-Star game after missing out for 10 years. Holiday is currently averaging 19.5 points, 7.1 assists, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.3 steals.

#5 Damian Lillard (32 years old)

Damian Lillard from the beginning of his career was already a special talent. He's kind of one of those NBA greats who's most likely never going to win a championship. But that doesn't make him any less of a star. Now entering his seventh All-Star game, "Dame Time" is averaging 31.4 points, 7.3 assists, and 4.3 rebounds.

#6 Kyrie Irving (30 years old)

Kyrie Irving honestly barely made the list of old NBA All-Stars. But since he's turning 31 years old this coming March, he's definitely not one of the young guys in the league anymore. Irving, despite all the drama he's been through in his career, is about to enter his eighth All-Star game. Kai is currently averaging 27.1 points, 5.3 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.0 steals.

#1 Anthony Edwards (21 years old)

Anthony Edwards is about to make his first NBA All-Star appearance. Initially snubbed from the All-Star game, Edwards will now replace the injured All-Star reserves. "Ant-Man" is currently averaging 24.7 points, 5.9 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.6 steals per game.

#2 Tyrese Haliburton (22 years old)

#4 Ja Morant (23 years old)

For the second consecutive time in his career, Ja Morant is making another All-Star game appearance. Supposedly a reserve in the lineup, Morant is replacing Steph Curry in the starting lineup. Ja is undoubtedly taking care of business for the Memphis Grizzlies as they are currently sitting as the second seed. #5 Luka Doncic (23 years old)

Luka Doncic is now about to enter his fourth consecutive All-Star appearance this year. At such a young age, Doncic is already proving that he's going to be a future Hall of Fame when everything has been said and done. He's one of the favorites to win the All-Star MVP and the league MVP this season. Luka "Magic" is averaging 33.3 points, 8.8 rebounds, 8.1 assists, and 1.5 steals.

#6 Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (24 years old)

When Shai Gilgeous-Alexander moved to the OKC Thunder, he immediately proved that he'll be a star in the NBA someday. Fast forward three seasons later, and he's finally making his first All-Star appearance. #7 Jayson Tatum (24 years old)

De'Aaron Fox was initially snubbed from the All-Star game. His teammate Domantas Sabonis was supposedly the only Sacramento Kings player to represent the team in the special event. #9 Bam Adebayo (25 years old)

Bam Adebayo is making his return to the All-Star game this year. The last time he participated was back in 2020. This was during the Miami Heat's championship run against the LA Lakers in the NBA Bubble. #10 Lauri Markkanen (25 years old)

#11 Jaylen Brown (26 years old)

Honestly, if Jaylen Brown wasn't there to support Jayson Tatum, the Boston Celtics might not be where they are today. While Brown is considered the second option for the Celtics, he definitely has the capability to carry his team to victory as well. JB is currently averaging 26.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.0 steals.

#12 Donovan Mitchell (26 years old)

Ever since arriving in Cleveland, Donovan Mitchell has quickly established himself to be the one to carry the Cavaliers to another playoff run. Now sitting as the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference, Mitchell is now heading to his fourth consecutive All-Star game. #13 Domantas Sabonis (26 years old)

Domantas Sabonis is no stranger to being a star. Before his third selection for this year's All-Star game, Sabonis was a two-time All-Star for the Indiana Pacers.
