Los Angeles Clippers Preview

The Los Angeles Clippers roll into Memphis in possession of a six-game win streak. The Clippers have been dominant on both ends of the floor of late and that was evident once again in their 114-99 victory over the red-hot Dallas Mavericks.

The Clippers raced off to an early lead and never relinquished their stranglehold, riding on big contributions from Paul George and Kawhi Leonard to close out a comfortable win.

George has sparkled following his return to the court which has coincided with an upturn in the Clippers' fortunes.

They look like the dominant force they were touted to be ahead of the start of the season and will be keen to keep their winning momentum going when they take on the slumping Grizzlies.

Key Player - Kawhi Leonard

Kawhi Leonard
Kawhi Leonard

The best two-way player in the league, Leonard has led the Clippers to a strong 13-4 start to the season. He is currently averaging 25.8 points and eight rebounds per game on 44.2% shooting from the field.

The Grizzlies have one of the worst defenses in the NBA at the moment, and Leonard will fancy another big night when he takes the court on Wednesday.

Clippers predicted lineup

Kawhi Leonard, Maurice Harkless, Ivica Zubac, Paul George, Patrick Beverley

Memphis Grizzlies Preview

Memphis will be looking to end their three-game home slide when they welcome the Clippers to the FedExForum. The Grizzlies have struggled at home this season, dropping seven of 10 games.

Consequently, they occupy the 14th spot in the Western Conference Standings and are all but out of the playoff picture.

Nevertheless, the Grizzlies do have some positives to take away from their 16 games thus far, including the performances of star point guard Ja Morant and the rest of their young core.

Key Player - Ja Morant

Ja Morant suffered a nasty back injury in the loss to the Pacers and has been listed as questionable for this clash, although he is expected to be fit in time for tip-off.

The second overall pick of the 2019 NBA Draft, Morant is the favorite to win the Rookie of the Year award this season. He has led the Grizzlies with aplomb thus far and is averaging 19.1 points and 6.3 assists per game. He's also shooting an impressive 40% from deep.

Morant's biggest asset is his athleticism which aids him in his quest to drive to the basket regularly, but he still needs to work on his jump shot in order to truly develop into an elite point guard.

Grizzlies predicted lineup

Jae Crowder, Jaren Jackson Jr, Jonas Valanciunas, Dillon Brooks, Ja Morant

Clippers vs Grizzlies Match Prediction

The Clippers enter this contest as red-hot favorites. They boast an impressive 9-4 record against Western Conference opposition and are currently riding a six-game win streak.

Their defense is among the best in the association and the Grizzlies will be in for a torrid time trying to put the ball in the hoop.

The Clippers have far too much firepower at their disposal and should emerge comfortable winners.
