March Madness upcoming games: TV details, schedule, and more

The NCAA Tournament winds down with its final games this weekend. The brackets converge on The Final Four, college basketball's signature event.

The national semifinals will take place on Saturday at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. The championship game is Monday. All of the games are televised by CBS. and also streamed on March Madness Live and Paramount+.

It is an unusual collection of teams as there is only one which has won a national championship before remaining in the tournament. Three schools making the Final Four are doing so for the first time in their program's history.

Saturday's first game features the No. 5 seed San Diego State Aztecs and the No. 9 seed Florida Atlantic Owls. The game tips at 6:09 p.m. ET.

The second game will see the No. 4 seed UConn Huskies take on the No. 5 seed Miami Hurricanes at 8:49 p.m. ET.

The two winners will play for the national championship title on Monday at 9 p.m. ET.

UConn is the only school to have won a national championship previously. The Huskies cut down the nets in 1999, 2004, 2011 and 2014. They have only lost in the national semifinal round once, in 2009.

Miami, FAU, and San Diego State are making their first trips to the Final Four. It is the first time since the 1970 season that three teams are first-time Final Four participants.

With two No. 5 seeds, one No. 4 seed and a No. 9 seed, it is one of the highest combined seedings for the Final Four. At 23, it is the second-highest seeding total since seeding started in the tournament in 1978.

It will be interesting to see the ratings for this Final Four with three nontraditional and two mid-major programs competing. FAU is a Cinderella story with a small fan base. Last season, the Final Four was loaded with blue bloods: North Carolina, Duke, Kansas and Villanova.
