Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the best players in the NBA. Thus, his opinion on any topic around the game holds great value. When the topic of the best player in the league was brought up during an interview, the two-time MVP said (via Complex News):

“I feel like the best player is the guy that wins a championship, wins it all, and is the best player for his team. So the best player in the NBA, probably I would say is Jaylen Brown.”

Fans had a field day reacting to it as they believed Antetokounmpo was not being genuine with his opinion.

“Giannis is becoming a d1 glazer. Didn’t see that coming,” another added.
“Sorry to break it to you but ain’t no way that Jaylen Brown is the best player in the NBA. Bro has no MVPs under his name, no first teams as well. At least he has Kysre and for that alone he deserves to be in the conversation,” a fan added.

While Giannis Antetokounmpo’s take surprised many, it shouldn’t be shocking, as he has maintained over the years that the reigning NBA Finals MVP is the best. This fact was not lost on some fans, as they brought it up in the comments section.

“I mean he’s always said that.. the fmvp on the team that wins it is the best player in the NBA. Ion know about this time though,” a fan said.

“I commend Giannis for standing firm on his criteria through the years,” another added.
“This isn’t new. Every year he says the best player in the league is the FMVP winner. Legit every year,” a fan added.

While Giannis Antetokounmpo’s take is debatable, there’s no denying Jaylen Brown is one of the better players, if not the best. He is the reigning Eastern Conference finals and NBA finals MVP for a team that also has Jayson Tatum, so that in itself speaks volumes of what he does on the court.
