LeBron James revealed last week that he personally campaigned for the Lakers to sign JaVale McGee, and it seems as though his faith has been repaid. McGee has been excellent for the Lakers, as the 30-year-old is currently averaging a career-high of 12.1 points per game.

The two-time NBA Champion is also impressing on the defensive end; McGee is averaging a monstrous 2.7 blocks per game, while also pulling down 6.4 rebounds per game.

For a player signed to a veterans minimum deal, McGee has been an excellent addition to the Los Angeles Lakers roster, and the team should prioritize offering him an extension.

The King still shows no signs of slowing down despite quickly approaching his 34th birthday; if anything, James seems to be getting even better.

The 14-time All-Star is currently averaging 27.8 points, 6.7 assists and 7.7 rebounds per game. He also had one of the standout games of the season when he dropped 51 points on the Heat.

James has been influential in developing the team's younger players, and he has already forged an excellent understanding with Lonzo Ball.

LeBron James has made the Lakers relevant again, and his performances will be the deciding factor in how far the team can go in the playoffs.
