When the Golden State Warriors completed a stunning move for DeMarcus Cousins, many analysts predicted that the team would be able to post one of the best regular season records in NBA history. By the Warriors' incredibly high standards, the team has experienced somewhat of a disastrous start to the season and the team looks to be in worse shape than at any other point of Steve Kerr's reign.

Back towards the end of November, the Warriors lost 123-95 to Oklahoma City, which marked the first time that the team had lost four games in a row under Kerr. The Warriors have since been boosted by the return of two-time MVP Steph Curry, although the team has continued to struggle for consistency, losing four of their last ten games.

During their difficult first few months to the season, there have been some good individual performers such as Curry and Kevon Looney, although a number of the team's stars have struggled. So here we will look at the three players who have underperformed in the early stages of the season.

#3 Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant has not statistically had a bad season, although it was disappointing that he could not carry the Warriors to more success than they've enjoyed in Curry's absence. In his 37 appearances so far this season, Durant is averaging an impressive 28.6 points-per-game, in addition to 7.7 rebounds and 6.2 assists.

These are personal bests for Durant during his time in California, although the Warriors win ratio falls to around .500 when Durant leads the team without Curry's presence. Durant remains an elite player within the NBA, although he's yet to prove he can carry a team on his own.

#2 Shaun Livingston

Shaun Livingston was the 4th overall pick of the 2004 NBA draft, and for a long time was considered a journeyman that never fulfilled his potential. Before landing in California, Livingston played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Washington Wizards, Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers and Brooklyn Nets in just a five-year spell.

Livingston eventually signed with the Warriors in 2014 and has since established himself as one of the NBA's best reserve guards. The 33-year-old played a big role in the Warriors' Championship win last season, although he has struggled this term.

He's contributing just 4.3 points per game and his field goal percentage has dropped for a third consecutive year. Ultimately, age may finally be catching up with the much-travelled guard and Livingston could soon find himself being traded.

#1 Draymond Green

Draymond Green has missed nearly a month of the season through injury, although the 2017 Defensive Player of the Year has struggled during his time on the court. In his 23 appearances for the Warriors this season, Green has averaged 7.3 points, 6.6 assists, and 8.0 rebounds.

The 28-year-old's average of just over seven points per game is his lowest since 2014 and Green is also shooting an abysmal .236 from behind the arc. Green has increasingly looked like an offensive liability to the Warriors, and opposing teams have recently stood off the Warriors man, urging him to shoot from range.

Nevertheless, Green has once again been able to keep up his excellent work on the defensive end, and he looks on track to be named as part of the league's Defensive Team of the Year. Ultimately, Green continues to be a major defensive force, although the Warriors need the All-Star to improve his offensive efficiency and quickly.
