In a cross-conference match-up the Utah Jazz went up against the Detroit Pistons to improve their record.

The final scoreline was 110-105 in favor of the Pistons as they came back from behind to get the win. The match was pretty tight and it was a great back and forth match where the momentum was swinging from one team to another, and it was pretty hard to say who would win until the final minutes.

The Pistons showed up from early on and let the Jazz know that they were there to win, but then the Jazz recovered from their 1st quarter and went on to claim the victory.

After this match, the Jazz are 9th in the West with a record of 20-20, while the Pistons are 9th in the East with a record of 17-20.

With that in mind, here are the top 3 points from the match.

#3 All the starters in double figures for the Pistons

The Pistons have been on kind of a losing slump lately. They have not been able to figure out how to win, and all their players' morale looked down as well. They were not putting in good performances.

But this game was a positive breather for them as all their starters played well. All of them were in double-figures and gave a great fight to the Jazz until the last minutes where they succumbed, as they didn't have enough firepower for the Jazz.

Blake Griffin scored the most points for the Pistons, with 34 points on 13 of 21 shooting. Griffin has been in amazing form this season as he has been averaging 24.8 points, 8.7 rebounds on 46% field goals and 36.3% 3-point percentage. He needs to play like this for the Pistons to qualify for the NBA Playoffs.

#2 Good scoring display from both teams

This game was a good display of the offensive potential of both teams. They shot well, found open looks and made points when it mattered. Most of all the flow of this game was pretty good which made the game very entertaining.

The Utah Jazz and Detroit Pistons both shot at a field goal percentage of 47.6%. They both played smart and took quality shots. They even took an equal number of shots, 82, and made 39 of them. But the difference was in the free throw numbers of both the teams.

While the Jazz shot 25 of their total 32 free throws taken, Pistons didn't create enough fouled shots and ended up with 16 made free throws out of a total of 20.

In such a highly competitive match it was the free throw that made the difference between these two.

#1 Multiple players in double figures for both teams

Both the teams needed their players to lace up their boots and show what they can do to build up positive momentum coming up in this match. And to their benefit, that's what happened.

A lot of players looked in form for both the teams and they scored in double figures. For the Pistons, all the 5 starters - Brown, Jackson, Drummond, Bullock and Griffin - scored 12, 12, 15, 19 and 34 respectively.

On the other hand for the Jazz, Mitchell, Favors, Ingles and Rubio scored 26, 13, 16 and 18 respectively to propel them towards a victory. This was a good win for them as it showed their grit and determination after getting behind as much as 13 points in the 1st quarter itself.

In their next game, the Jazz will face the Bucks while the Pistons will host the San Antonio Spurs.
