#2 Lillard's 40-point night went wasted
Dame's points per game average is currently sixth best in the league, as he has been dropping almost 28 points on an average in December. He is shooting a career-best 40 percent from downtown and has the fourth most (113) three-pointers made this season.
Even with one of the best shooters in the league from distance, the Blazers shot a miserable 29 percent from deep. C.J. McCollum attempted five threes but could not get even a single one to fall as his team shot 9-of-31 from long range.
Neither Portland's three-point shooting percentage nor field-goal percentage finds a place amongst the best ten in the NBA right now, as a result of which their offensive rating (110.9) is a subpar 14th best.
The Blazers' three-point collapse at home meant that Lillard's valiant 6-of-13 effort from downtown and 40 points on the night went all in vain.
