The reigning MVP had the best stat line of the day finishing with 54 points, eight rebounds, 13 assists and three steals. Harden shot 17-32 from the field, 7-15 from the 3PT line and 13-15 from the free throw line.

Despite such an amazing performance from Harden, the Rockets failed to capitalize and lost in Overtime against the Wizards 131-135.

Eric Gordon amply supported Harden and ended the match with 36 points. Harden and Gordon became the second highest scoring backcourt in a match ever with 90 points finishing behind Kobe and Smush who had 94 points in a match where Kobe himself had 81 points.

Harden has become the PPG leader after several scoring outbursts in recent matches. He is now averaging 31.5 PPG and looks back to his MVP best.

The Houston Rockets are currently lying at the 13th position in the Western Conference standings with a 9-10 record.
