Going into the 18/19 NBA season, many fans and experts expected it to be Kevin Durant's last season in California. The superstar is a free-agent in the summer of 2019, and it is finally time for KD to earn the max contract that he deserves.

Despite this, nearly every NBA fan expected another season dominated by the Golden State Warriors, where Durant would help the team to a third consecutive championship, before amicably moving onto a new challenge.

The events at Golden State have however taken a sudden turn for the worst, and some are now questioning if the recent Kevin Durant developments will negatively affect the Warriors chances of winning this season.

The Durant drama began when Draymond Green tried to take the game-winning shot against the Clippers, a decision that left Durant bemused. Green was unhappy at being questioned by Durant, and the often outspoken power forward was soon unleashing on the 30-year-old superstar.

Green reportedly questioned KD's commitment, while also highlighting that the Warriors had already won a title before Durant arrived in California. The Warriors seemingly sided with Durant, and Green was fined and suspended for one game.

The issue seemed to be resolved, however, a few days later, Durant reacted angrily to a reporters question about the incident. As seen in the video below, KD flat out told the reporter to 'not ask me that again'. Durant's angry response drew criticism, especially from ESPN analyst, Stephen A Smith.

These incidents have also arguably coincided with a decline to Kevin Durant's performances for the Warriors. The superstar has hit just one 1 his last 14 three-point attempts, and his usual defensive effort has been missing. The 2014 MVP was even caught on camera cursing at a Mavericks fan during their recent loss, which today resulted in Durant being fined $25,000.

Despite a week of madness, Kevin Durant remains among the best players in the NBA. The Warriors are also still the best team and will improve once Steph Curry returns. The team now needs to focus on solving any remaining internal wounds, so that they can once again focus on winning an unprecedented third consecutive championship.
