The Washington Wizards lost at the Orlando Magic on Sunday night, losing 125-121 just a day after a tremendous win against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Wizards tried to make a late comeback after trailing for the most part through the first 3 quarters. They gave their all in the 4th quarter, only to lose by 4 points after scoring a game-high 44 points.

Here is an analysis of the game.

Beal is still hot, scores 34 points

Bradley Beal
Bradley Beal

Shooting guard Bradley Beal stayed hot after his two 40+point games earlier this week. Although Beal did not score 40 points again, he certainly created a big impact.

Beal went 12-26 FG, 5-6 FT, and 5-10 3PT, scoring 34 points with 6 rebounds and 8 assists. While that wasn't enough to beat the Magic and continue his hot streak, Beal became the fifth player in Wizards history to score 10,000 points after Sunday's game.

Wizards fans would hope he continues shooting hot like this going forward, considering he is the core of the team right now.

CJ Miles comes off the bench, scores 21 points

Power forward Moritz Wagner cooled down a bit against the Magic, only scoring 12 points after a career-high 30 points on Friday night. But veteran CJ Miles came off the bench and went 6-10 FG, 3-3 FT, and 6-7 3PT. He tallied 21 points with 0 rebounds and an assist.

Miles has been up and down since his debut for the Wizards, and his role with the team has been considered to be in jeopardy. One of Miles and shooting forward Isaac Bonga could be traded before the deadline, but for now it seems like Miles has the edge over Bonga.

6 players in double digits

While the Wizards lost, they had six players scoring in double-digits. Center Thomas Bryant scored 14 points, point guard Isaiah Thomas scored 13, forward Davis Bertans scored 15 and Wagner scored 12.

Beal and Miles were the scoring leaders but it is interesting to note that even with such an effective team on offense, they were still unable to finish off the game and get a win.

What's next?

The Wizards are back home to face off against the the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday at 7:00 PM ET.
