Shooting Guard – Tim Hardaway Jr. (80)

Tim Hardaway Jr. was not given a starting role for the Dallas Mavericks for much of the season. He started just 31 games in the NBA but became a bit of a constant threat off the bench throughout the season. Hardaway Jr. finished with 16.6 ppg whilst shooting at 52.4% from inside the arc and a healthy 39% from the 3-point zone.

He can be expected to hold on to his 80 rating from last year despite not starting as many games, a factor that appears to have played a huge role in deciding player overalls in NBA 2K22. Tim Hardaway Jr. had the build of a 3-point specialist and can be expected to be given similar statistics this year.

Power Forward – Kristaps Porzingis (85)

The Dallas Mavericks’ second big European star had a season to forget. Porzingis was available for just 43 NBA games this season, starting each of them. He averaged more than 20 ppg making it his third straight season in the NBA with 20+ points per game.

However, at the same time, Porzingis’ record during the Playoffs makes for dismal reading as he averaged 13.1 points and 5.4 rebounds. As a result, Porzingis is expected to be given a downgrade from his 86 overall in NBA 2K21. He might have the same build of a 2-Way 3-Level Scorer.

Small Forward – Dorian Finney-Smith (76)

For Dorian Finney-Smith, the 2020-21 NBA season proved to be impressive on a number of counts. He shot at almost 40% from the 3-point zone, comprehensively a career-best. He also produced a career-high of 9.8 ppg, 5.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game and was in truth the most efficient scorer that the Dallas Mavericks had in their starting lineup.

Dorian Finney-Smith shot at exactly 60% in the NBA last season and is as a result expected to be upgraded to 76 from a 75 overall in NBA 2K21. NBA 2K22 has till now not announced any change in “build parameters,” which means that Dorian Finney-Smith should be a 3 point specialist again.
