Houston Rockets v Los Angeles Clippers

We had a great night of basketball in the NBA, right before the Thanksgiving holiday. Many top teams from both the Eastern and the Western Conference had great displays in the last round. From all the players, 5 stood out as the most impressive ones, and we are going to analyze them here:

#5 Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook has faced quite a lot of criticism this season, as his performances from the start of his run for the Houston Rockets were not as impressive as many experts believed they should have been. Well, the former Thunder star put on a great showing against the Miami Heat.

Westbrook finished the night with 27 points for Houston, as well as 9 rebounds, and 7 assists. He was vital on both offense and defense for the Rockets'. At many instances during the game, he acted as the main engine of the team. If he can keep up the form of play showed in this match, then the Houston Rockets are going to be an extremely dangerous team this season.

#4 LeBron James

Los Angeles Lakers v New Orleans Pelicans

While he was not the best player for the Los Angeles Lakers last night, LeBron James put on a great show in New Orleans, against the Pelicans, and deserves a spot in these rankings. James reached 33,000 points scored in the NBA during the game and he became the youngest player in history to hit that milestone.

He finished the match with 29 points scored, after a great 4th quarter showing. In addition to this, he had 11 assists, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals. LeBron was extremely important for Los Angeles both on offense and defense. His tandem with Anthony Davis is the main reason why the Lakers have the best record in the association right now.

#3 Joel Embiid

San Antonio Spurs v Philadelphia 76ers

After an embarrassing display against the Toronto Raptors, Joel Embiid bounced back immediately for the Philadelphia 76ers, as their star player put on a great performance at home, against the Sacramento Kings. This was quite an important match for Philadelphia.

After scoring 0 points against Toronto, Embiid finished with 33 points and 14 assists. The entire 76ers' offense ran through Embiid during the game, and he did not disappoint. He was fantastic for Philadelphia last night and deserves a place on this list.

#2 Kemba Walker

Brooklyn Nets v Boston Celtics

Just a few days after he has carried off on a stretcher, Kemba Walker returned to the court for the Boston Celtics and put up a great display. The former Hornets player finished the game with 39 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. It is important to note that he did all this with a sprained neck and a sore back.

The Boston Celtics had a difficult match against the Brooklyn Nets, and the main reason why they managed to walk away with the victory was because of Kemba's amazing performance. He looked like a leader for Boston, and it might have been his best match in a Celtics uniform.

#1 Anthony Davis

It was all about Anthony Davis last night when the Los Angeles Lakers traveled to New Orleans to face the Pelicans. It was Davis' return in front of the Pelicans fans, and we could say that he did not receive a warm welcome. This did not faze him though, as he put on an impressive performance against his former team.

He finished the match with 41 points, 9 rebounds and 1 assist. Additionally to that, he also registered 2 steals, one of them being the game-winning one. He has been considered a prime candidate for the Defensive Player of the Year Award in the last couple of weeks and given his defensive display against the Pelicans, it is not hard to see why.
