NBA: Clippers beat Mavericks

Washington, Jan 4 (IANS) The Los Angeles Clippers beat the Dallas Mavericks 119-112 Friday but suffered a setback when point guard Chris Paul injured his shoulder during the game.

DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin had 25 points each Friday night. They led the Clippers, who were down by 103-110 with four minutes left, to a 16-2 late run in the fourth quarter to wrap up the victory, reports Xinhua.

Paul left the court in the third quarter after spraining his left shoulder. He had 19 points before the injury.

Mavericks’ leading scorer Dirk Nowitzki decided to play despite a left ankle injury which he suffered in Washington two days ago. He finished with a team high 24 points.

Shawn Marion had 20 points while Monta Ellis and Brandan Wright had 13 and 12 points respectively.
