Magic Johnson endorsed VP Kamala Harris for her performance in Tuesday's Presidential Debate against Donald Trump. Johnson vehemently praised Harris' demeanor and ideologies behind her potential government. The LA Lakers legend also hailed the Democratic nominee for standing her ground against an opponent like Trump and not getting thrown off.
The five-time NBA champion summed up his thoughts on X later in the night, saying:
"Vice President Harris was presidential, confident, intelligent, and stayed on course. She did not allow herself to be thrown off or diverted by lies and accusations. Most importantly, she held him accountable."

"I love the fact that Vice President Harris is compassionate and wants a government for all people regardless of race, language, sexual orientation, or party lines," Johnson added.

However, Magic Johnson's support for Harris was met with tremendous criticism. Several users from Donald Trump's corner weren't impressed with the pointers he made. One of the users called Johnson out for saying Trump lied and threw inaccurate accusations around in the debate.
"She lied on 3-4 cases herself," the user wrote. "Not saying Donald is allowed to to also do it, but it wasn’t right that the moderators never once questioned hers. One of the lies Biden tried telling himself once and got debunked immediately. No cop died at the capitol on Jan 6th."
Another user was perplexed, seemingly 100% opposed to what Johnson said.
"What were you watching?" the user wrote.
"Another puppet spewing out his script his handlers sent him," added another.
One user called out the debate's moderators, accusing them of only picking on Trump's claims, not Harris'.
"Lol. it was like a 1v3 fast break right," the critic wrote.

Magic Johnson joined by NBA and WNBA personalities in endorsing Kamala Harris
Kamala Harris' Presidential campaign has received an outpouring of support from several NBA legends, including Magic Johnson. Basketball Hall of Fame coach George Karl, former player Evan Turner and Natasha Cloud after Tuesday's debate.
Like Johnson, Karl praised Harris' "intelligence and facts" while mocking Trump for his "anger and hate."
"Kamala Harris demonstrated important facts and information tonight," Karl wrote on X. "Her intelligence and plans should win out over Trump’s anger and hate. We’re here to help you finish the job, Vice President Harris."
Meanwhile, Turner used the debate to clap back at his own critics, saying they shouldn't call him out for talking on "dumb" topics if they plan to vote for Trump in November. Turner said he felt "insulted" watching Trump, failing to understand how people can support his campaign.
Cloud had a similar remark as Turner about Trump, saying the Republican candidate made "random" comments that weren't true. She mocked his supporters, saying they would believe Trump even if he said "2+2 was 5."
