New York - The Los Angeles Lakers controlled the ball so well that Brooklyn Nets players couldn’t get one single point in the final two minutes, ensuring a 92-83 victory for the visitors in the NBA contest.

Howard missed his third consecutive game with a torn labrum in his right shoulder and World Peace was suspended by the NBA for grabbing and striking Detroit’s Brandon Knight Sunday. So, the Lakers were without their two best defenders, though they still did a good job Tuesday night.

Kobe Bryant had 21 points and eight rebounds, Steve Nash contributed 17 points and eight assists, and Earl Clark added 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Lakers. Gasol scored 15 points before he injured his right foot with a little more than four minutes left.

Brook Lopez finished with a game-high 30 points and 11 rebounds, Deron Williams donated 15 points and Joe Johnson added 11 for the Nets.
