NBA All-Star Game Trophy

The 2019 NBA All-Star weekend was concluded with Team LeBron securing victory over Team Giannis. This year's NBA All-Star game was quite exciting and competitive as till the half-time break Team Giannis had a comfortable lead, before Kevin Durant and Damian Lillard stepped up to take the game.

For Team Giannis, Paul George and the captain himself had a tremendous game, which almost paid off. Stephen Curry also had a memorable game, producing a viral bounce pass and then ending the game with a reverse slam for the highlight reel.

Dwyane Wade and Dirk Nowitzki were the special inclusions to this year's games as a tribute to their contributions to the NBA. Both got a few highlights as Dirk shot back-to-back threes, and Wade combined with LeBron to produce magic for the last time as teammates.

Here are the Most Valuable Players from every edition since 2010.

Wade and LeBron's chemistry was undeniable and fans also realized just how much of a problem the duo was going to cause for opponents.

In the game, Wade's efficient scoring and all-around performance on both ends of the floor was one of the major reasons East was victorious in the game. Apart from his scoring, D-Wade's 11 assists played a huge role in making him the obvious MVP choice.

Kobe Bryant is one of the best players to ever play the game and is one of the greatest scorers to ever step on the court. During his prime, Kobe was an unstoppable force and a nightmare for the opposing team.

In 2011, a 32-year-old Kobe put on an exhibition for fans as the West beat the East by five points. Kobe has always been a prominent scorer for any team he plays in and the All-Star Game was no different for the Black Mamba as he put up a double-double to lock-in the 2011 All-Star Game MVP.

KD was a force that night
KD was a force that night

Durant was one of the most loved players in the league before the criticism that came with his move to the Golden State Warriors in 2016. He was also one of the top contenders to take the throne from LeBron as the best player on the planet.

In 2012, a 23-year-old KD was named an All-Star for the third consecutive time in his career and was one of the favorites to win the MVP. He didn't disappoint his fans. The performance was one of many hints that he would establish himself as a top player.

Durant in this match just didn't impress the fans with his stacked stat line but also with his leadership quality. As he was the anchor of the team during the whole game, these kinds of attributes are not reflected on the box score but sometimes can change the whole outcome of the match.

Chris Paul is arguably one of the best players of all time at his position but due to injuries and several unfortunate decisions by the team management, he hasn't won as many accolades as his talent deserves.

In 2013, CP3 had already established himself as one of the best players in the league and was named as one of the starters for the Western Conference team. Paul had a brilliant game as West beat East.

Although Paul didn't have a gigantic amount of points in the game, his lockdown defence and several assists during the crunch time helped his team to finish the game with the win.

Chris Paul - Points: 20, Assists: 15

Although not having any rebounds, Paul had 4 steals and an amazing 70 FG percentage shooting night.

#5 2014 All-Star Game MVP - Kyrie Irving

Kyrie Irving was solid in Cleveland in his early years

Cleveland Cavaliers are one of the luckiest franchises in the 2000s, they had several No. 1 picks and they have had their fair shares of stars and busts playing for their organization.

After James decided to leave the Cavs for the Heat in 2010 for a chance to win championships, Cleveland were blessed with another franchise player in Kyrie Irving. Irving was doing quite well and him being the cornerstone of the franchise at that time probably had an effect in King James' return to "The Land".

In 2014, Irving was making a name for himself in the league as one of the best handlers of the league. He was having a great year at the young age of 21, and it is safe to say that Uncle Drew definitely lived up to his hype. Irving had a tremendous All-Star game and took home the All-Star game MVP as East finally defeated West after losing last three times against them.

Kyrie just showed how good of a player he is if he is in the zone as he tormented the West defence recording several points and assists while shooting efficiently from the field. Irving's assists and clutch points were really crucial for Team East's victory over Team West.

Russell Westbrook was the first player to repeat All-Star game MVP since 1959

Whenever we hear the name of Russell Westbrook, his crazy athleticism and monstrous dunks come in our mind.

Although Russ plays at the point guard position he can dunk the basketball like a 6'8 Small Forward. In the past few years, Brodie has proved that he can be a No.1 scorer in a team and can lead them to victories. After KD's departure, Russ and now PG have taken the mantle to lead OKC to glory and possibly dethrone the Warriors.

In 2015 & 2016, Westbrook had already established himself a solid player in the league which led him to be selected as an All-Star year after year. In 2015, Westbrook was not named as one of the starters for the West but still managed to deliver a monstrous performance. While in 2016, Brodie was an All-Star starter and he didn't disappoint his fans as he won back to back All-Star game MVP.

In both the games Westbrook proved why he is such an offensive threat as during the games there were several moments when Westbrook absolutely carried the West offence.

If it was not for Anthony Davis' humongous 52 points night, Westbrook was on his way to win his third consecutive All-Star game MVP after winning the accolade in the previous two years.

In 2017, AD was having yet another great regular season which earned him a starting spot in the 2017 All-Star game and the Unibrow definitely didn't disappoint his New Orleans fans as he scored a record 52 points.

AD was not only an offensive threat but he was board dominant during the whole game and it seemed like no one could stop him as he recorded a double-double to finish the game as a clear winner of the All-Star game MVP.

Anthony Davis Box Score - Points: 52, Assists: 0, Rebounds: 10

The Unibrow also had 2 steals and shot 66.7 percent from the field.

#8 2018 All-Star Game MVP - LeBron James

LeBron James earned his third All-Star MVP in 2018
LeBron James earned his third All-Star MVP in 2018

James is currently playing for the LA Lakers after fulfilling his promise to deliver a championship to Cleveland. But overall, his return to the Cavs was overpowered by the GSW as they faced each other in the NBA finals four times and Golden State won three.

Fast forward two years and the Warriors dynasty is yet again dominating the league as they added DeMarcus Cousins to their already stacked roster. On the other hand, James suffered a groin injury which resulted in Lakers slipping from the fourth seed to the 10th seed in a couple of months. There are still 25 games left but the question is can the 34 years old LBJ save the LA Lakers?

In 2018, James made his 14th straight All-Star game and delivered yet another prominent performance to his one of the best seasons in his career. In the end, Team LeBron won the close game against Team Curry with a close margin of mere three points.

LeBron has several great attributes which makes him a great player but the ability to elevate his teammates during the game is probably the best ability he possesses. This game was no different as LeBron has an all-around game at both the sides of the floor as he almost recorded a triple-double in the game.

Match Score - Team LeBron 148:145 Team Stephen

James' Box Score:

Points: 29, Assists: 8, Rebounds: 10

King James also bagged a steal while shooting an astonishing 70.6 percent from the field and 50 percent from the 3 point line.

#9 2019 All-Star Game MVP - Kevin Durant

Durant was huge in the 2019 ASG
Durant was huge in the 2019 ASG

This year KD is having yet another great regular season and will probably win another NBA championship with the GSW dynasty.

Prior to his decision to leave OKC and join a 73-9 record team to win easy NBA rings, Durant and Westbrook were one of the most iconic duos in the league. Now, Durant has got a reputation of a player who will do anything to win championships.

Recently, in the 2019 All-Star Game MVP, Team Giannis looked totally in control of the game as they had a double-digit lead heading to the second half but in the second half, Durant and Lillard totally overpowered Team Giannis which led to Team LeBron winning the game by 14 points.

Durant's impact in this game was way more than the stats show as we know Team LeBron was down by double digits after the first half but KD's performance was probably a confidence lifter for the whole team.

KD also had an amazing performance at the defensive side of the match as he finished with multiple blocks to seal the game.

Match Score - Team LeBron 178:164 Team Giannis

Kevin Durant - Points: 31, Assists: 2, Rebounds: 7

KD also had a steal and two blocks along with shooting 66.7 percent from the field and the 3 point line.
