Patrick Beverley wants three-year, $40 million contract; Lakers and Bulls among interested teams
Patrick Beverley earned plenty of plaudits for his performances during the Los Angeles Clippers' first-round playoff exit to the Golden State Warriors and Tim MacMahon of ESPN is reporting that the impending free agent is attracting plenty of interest:
During the 18-19 season, Beverley averaged 7.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.8 assists in 27.4 minutes per game. The former Houston man is renowned for his hustle at both ends of the court, and he would be a perfect fit alongside LeBron James due to his ability to impact a game without the ball in his hands.
The 30-year-old earned just $5 million for the previous season, and despite his intention to sign a larger deal this summer, Beverley is a much cheaper option than the summer's most in-demand free agents.
