NBA News Roundup, Saturday, July 20th: Chris Paul could join Miami Heat on one condition, Lakers feel 'played' by Kawhi Leonard and more
Lakers feel that Kawhi Leonard played them during free agency
Leonard's decision left the Lakers scrambling to fill a depleted roster, and Brian Windhorst of ESPN is reporting that Los Angeles feels that the Finals MVP played them:
I heard complaints from the Lakers that they got played... Leonard knew all along that he wasn’t signing with the Lakers, waited a week into free agency so other top free agents would commit elsewhere then announced his decision just to sabotage the Lakers.
Leonard will be joined in Los Angeles by Paul George, and the Clippers are expected to compete with the Lakers for next season's title.
