Earlier this week it was widely reported that Michael Beasley would follow his former teammate Lance Stephenson to China. However, it appears that Beasley is now set to turn down a $5 million yearly salary in favor of extending his NBA career with the Detroit Pistons:

Beasley was selected 2nd overall back in the 2008 draft but has started less than 250 games during his decade spell in the NBA. Most recently Beasley represented the Los Angeles Lakers, making 26 regular-season appearances, including 2 starts. However, the forward play a career-low 10.7 minutes per game, averaging 7.0 points and 2.3 rebounds.

Before moving to the Lakers, Beasley enjoyed an impressive spell with the New York Knicks, averaging 13.2 points and 5.6 rebounds per game, while also shooting almost 40% from beyond the arc.
