Ever since LeBron James landed in Los Angeles last summer, the Lakers have been eyeing Anthony Davis. The Lakers are believed to view the 26-year-old as the player who can thrive alongside LeBron James, before eventually becoming the face of the franchise.

In fact, the Lakers have so much belief in Davis that they offered nearly their entire roster to the Pelicans ahead of the February trade deadline. However, New Orleans refused to enter serious trade talks, and Gabe Zaldivar of Forbes is reporting that the Lakers' prospects of completing a deal for Davis this summer are 'slim'.

The Boston Celtics are also expected to make a move for Davis this summer, and if Boston is willing to include Jayson Tatum in trade talks, it is difficult to envision Davis playing for anyone other than the Celtics next year.
