The Orlando Magic have already started their rebuilding process midway through the 2020-21 season. However, their remaining high-profile veteran will likely be jettisoned during the 2021 NBA free agency.

Each position already has at least one player under 25, and with the 2021 NBA Draft and free agency coming soon, more youngsters are likely to be introduced. The idea will be to give as much game time as possible to the youngsters, which is why the Orlando Magic will be looking to trade Terrence Ross.

They will look to trade in players who could fill the same position but would be a good fit for the Orlando Magic's timeline. Some teams will be interested in Ross' ability to shoot and score, as he could serve as an elite rotation shooter.

Trading Ross will make sense from a financial standpoint. Although his salary will not be so much of a financial burden now, the Orlando Magic will need as much cap space as possible because their young players will be due for extensions soon.

Ross is an incredible player but does not fit into the Orlando Magic's timeline, as he is still close to his peak. Although the Magic need a veteran presence, he does not seem like the best candidate to provide that to the team.

#3 Otto Porter will be unsigned

Otto Porter Jr. has eight years of experience in the NBA. While that is something that could interest teams, the Orlando Magic are looking to offload as many older players as possible. Porter Jr. was traded in on transfer deadline day in exchange for Vucevic to the Chicago Bulls.

The Orlando Magic have shown from the get-go that they are not interested in the forward, as they tried to activate his buyout clause, but that did not materialize. With Porter becoming an unrestricted free agent this summer, it is unlikely that the Magic will try to re-sign him.

Porter Jr. does not fit with the Orlando Magic's timeline, and more importantly, his salary will be too much of a burden. Exploring a sign-and-trade option might not be beneficial to the Magic as getting a team that will be interested in the forward's services.
