The Chicago Bulls need more veteran leaders on their roster who can help them in crunch situations, especially in the playoffs. Derrick Rose fits the bill here, as he could run the team's offense as their point guard; he was key in helping the Bulls make the playoffs five times during his first stint with the Bulls.

Rose proved with his performances in the 2021 NBA playoffs that veterans are a must-have in promising young teams. The way he carried the team on his back was commendable, something he could do with other teams too.

Derrick Rose could groom a young player like Coby White, which would reap long-term benefits for the Chicago Bulls if they stick with the latter for a while.

#1 Derrick Rose would be a good alternative if the Bulls fail to land a top-rated point guard

The Chicago Bulls are expected to be in the market for multiple young top-rated free-agent point guards like Lonzo Ball, Spencer Dinwiddie and Dennis Schroder. They also have their eyes on veteran Kyle Lowry, who, as per NBA rumors, will likely command a fee in the region of $25-30 million annually in free agency.

All of the aforementioned players have huge markets, so it won't be an easy task to acquire them in free agency. If the Bulls fail in their pursuit of landing the said guards, Derrick Rose could be a solid alternative.

He is a much cheaper option compared to the other stars and is efficient as well. Rose proved in the playoffs that he could adapt to a starting role also. With Rose, the Bulls would be able to fancy reaching the playoffs and become perennial playoff contenders.
